Biscuits, chocolate cake, marble cake – we all have our baking classics that taste good and always work. But how about something a little different? We’ve been thinking about how you can add a little variety to your baking. Bring some southern flair to your kitchen with this traditional Brazilian carrot cake. Topped with a creamy chocolate icing, this dessert is hard to resist. Incredibly delicious and easy to make. Milestone housemate Lully (IG: lully_ps) shows you how. So buy ingredients and let’s go!
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees (top and bottom heat). Grease the baking tin. In a bowl, put the sliced carrots, 3 organic eggs, 250g sugar and 180ml oil. Mix well. Mix the flour and baking powder. Pour the carrot mixture into a bowl, sift in the flour and baking powder mixture and then mix until smooth. Pour into the cake tin (24cm) and bake for about 40-45min. Before you start with the icing, the cake must cool down. Now remove the cake from the tin.
Bring all the ingredients to the boil in a saucepan, stirring constantly, and continue to simmer slowly until the mixture thickens slightly (approx. 5min), allow to cool minimally and pour over the cake. Spread evenly with a palette.
